What is the “E” in L.O.V.E.

udd_respect.png

This symbol is a derivation of two beings intertwining their parts through mutual respect forming a heart that represents the basis of respect which is love - a love and life bigger together than the sum of who they are apart.

“There can be no TRUTH without l.o.v.e.”

To be capable of loving another - to listen to and observe them then to validate what they are going through is an incredible feat.

To act on that love - to be able to really help them without serving oneself is truly the stuff of legends.

Many or us would be content if we can be truly listened to - truly be validated in what we share about our lives, our experiences.

So it is no surprise that we don’t expect to get an additional boost from sharing who we are.

It’s no surprise that being recognized is rare enough - that being loved is precious enough.

To “Empower” is that final stage that represents the “E” in L.O.V.E. and yes, it’s the hardest part of all.

To “listen” is simply to put aside your beliefs to recognize another’s.

To “observe” is to translate another’s actions into a significance that is all their own.

To “validate” is to remove oneself from the equation and recognize what they are experiencing unconditionally.

Now to “Empower” will at times necessitate you going against yourself - what you think is right or wrong - to accept what to you may be unacceptable.

That takes a special piece of you, it requires that you give yourself fully to loving another without bearing you in mind.

To truly and absolutely detach you from their process in order to support them unconditionally.

To empower them to face their challenges

To empower them to avoid their fears

To empower them to make mistakes

To empower them to succeed without risk

To empower them to what you least believe

To empower them simply because you love them truly and completely.

For at this point, you have breached the barrier of compassionate inaction to selfless action.

You have acted on behalf of another, for that other in their world by their rules.

To me, it is one of the most beautiful, courageous, and powerful forms of love.

To empower that which you would not endorse yourself - to commit to their world above your own to help them with their challenges.

Be certain, that giving up your world for them when empowering their decisions in by no way compromises your world, your belief.

For as long as their world does not violate the universal laws of human rights and respect, then you are doing for them what they most need -

you are believing in them and in so turn, give them the means to believe in themselves.

Your world remains intact - even more solid now that you can extend yourself past it for another.

Why ? For we cannot lose that which we are not afraid of parting with.

Why ? For we cannot compromise that which remains firm in spite of our parting.

Why ? For we can never be anything other than whom we are when we recognize others for who they are.

Recognizing another necessitates firm commitment to oneself.

Respecting another encourages respect for oneself.

Loving another is intricately embedded in loving oneself.

Many search for love, in everyone and everything, only later to find, if they are fortunate.

That the love was always there - right there in them -

and all they had to do was L.O.V.E. another - truly L.O.V.E. them using all the stages -

To “Empower” the love within themselves.

An older, much wiser being once said “The love you get is the love you give”.

I will add that the love you “Empower” in the “E” for L.O.V.E.

is the L.O.V.E. you will create in you.
